Harbertonford has long been a hub of creative talent, being one of the first villages to have a mini-festival back in the 1990's.
We have had two great festivals in 23 and 24 and we have decided to have a year off in 2025, mainly as there is a lot of work getting it together which falls to a small number of people.
We are desperate to find people to help out with the advance planning and organisation of FordFiesta. There is quite a bit of work, but if we can get more people helping it will not be too onerous - and it is such a fantastic thing to be involved with.
Go on, you know you want to. We are looking for people to take on some specific jobs as well as general admin help
We have a website (obvs), but need someone to manage it and keep it up to date. We have the domain name and an account with GoDaddy, which has a website editor, so minimal website experience is needed.
We have a tried and tested online ticket sales system - and we sell some tickets in the Community Shop. We would love someone to take on running this side of things.
We have not been great at this in the past. We don't want the whole world and his wife turning up on the day as we have a 500 people limit, but we do want to get the message out to Harbertonford and the local area. There must be loads of you could do that.
We have loads of willing volunteers offering to help out on the day, but we need to keep lists of people and work out rotas and jobs for them. We also need to keep in touch with them all so they know what is going on and what to expect.
There are all sorts of things to organise in advance of the day - music, stalls, bar, food, kids games, site layout, licencing, risk assessment, raffle, equipment hire and more. We can always do with help to spread the load and make it easier.
Just wanted to say that was a good crack yesterday - really enjoyed it. The rain made it all cosier if anything! - and those steak burgers were ridiculously good.
Well done you lovely hard-working people. It was fabulous.
I cannot express how much we enjoyed it, despite the poor weather. Great fun for the kids, exceptional music, good beer and a fantastic, friendly vibe. We are already looking forwrd to next time.
It was great, well done to all the organisers - thanks a million.
I didn't make it, but I heard the music was fantastic.
We've just been to the pub and everyone was raving about it. FF was a resounding success.
There was a jam-packed day of music with bands and musicians from 2 till 10. This year we were very excited to have an eclectic mix of styles including folk, reggae, jazz, dance, and rock. All the acts are local and have a direct link to the village.
Great food from the grill with veg and vegan options as well as meat - including a Hot Dog option for kids big and small.
We also had Bazzer's famous Paella.
Loads of fun for all the family with organised silly games including the famous wheelbarrow race - this year in fancy dress.
There were three sections of the day when the silly games become the focus of the entertainment with races and games for everyone to watch - commentary with over the PA.
We had storytellers and authors in the Football Clubhouse talking to children about their work. A huge success at FordFiesta 23, we were very lucky to have published authors coming to talk to children of all ages (and some adults too).
There was also Kit - dressed as a Tudor woman with stories of life in the 1580's - popping up around the field.
BEER AND WINE
There was a fab bar in the field selling beer, cider, wine and G&T.
COCKTAIL BAR
After 6pm we opened our new cocktail bar selling exotic drinks getting everyone in the mood for dancing.
Tea tent with hot drinks, soft drinks and plenty of cake - all lovingly made by villagers.
There were a few stalls and artists at the event, braving the inclement conditions, to further contribute to the enjoyment.
We had a raffle with some great prizes. There were some truly great prizes and not that many tickets (compared to the lottery for example) so your chances of winning something were good. Plus you were supporting good causes so you will have a nice warm feeling inside.
